| Summary, etc. | Student Engagement is a huge factor towards the student's capability to learn, proven by the many studies that contributed to its strong positive relationship, however for the case of this study, the variables of this study will be limited to only the 3 dimensions of engagement, that being (1)behavioral, (2)emotional, (3) and cognitive, this study also focuses on teaching Christ towards children rather than the usual math and science topics the other researches cover. Thus, this study aims to form a teaching approach gathered from the interviews from probationary teachers from private schools in Iloilo City, and such approach will be utilized in teaching the students of the Baptist Center Church. The results ended up with a teaching method that consists of (1) making fun activities, (2)making an effort to understand your students, (3)getting feedback and repeating the topics if necessary. To determine students' perception on student engagement based on the teaching approach employed a google form survey was administered to the students of the Baptist Center Church. The results of the survey showed that the approach was able to improve the student's engagement through the results from the student's survey, showing that the students strongly agree that the teaching method allowed them to be more engaged with learning about Christian Education. |
