520 _aThis study examined the practicality of starting a business at a young age which explored the lived experiences of young food entrepreneurs in Iloilo City. A qualitative multiple case study approach was used by the researchers, conducting in-depth interviews with young entrepreneurs in Iloilo city that identified their business intentions, challenges and coping strategies. Findings revealed that the entrepreneurs were primarily driven by their passion, personal fulfillment and a long term vision. Many aimed to create experiences, make strong connections with the community and introduce quality products. While some began as academic requirements, exposure to entrepreneurship gradually developed into genuine commitment and formation of identity. However the participants encountered numerous challenges throughout their careers which included uncertainty, self doubt, pressure, operational difficulties and the struggle to balance academic and business responsibilities. These findings highlighted that starting a business at a young age was not only a risk financially but it also bought emotional and social burdens. Despite the obstacles through resilience and a strong sense of purpose, they eventually found a reliable support system that enabled them to persevere and pursue their passion for the business. This study concludes that although starting a business at a young age (18-30) may not be practical due to its demands. Passion, support systems, and continuous self-improvement turn this journey into a transformative and developmental journey rather than it being solely a pursuit of profit.
