520 _aThe Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) aims to improve public transportation in the Philippines by replacing traditional jeepneys with modern units. While this initiative secks to enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability, commuter satisfaction remains underexplored. This study evaluates the satisfaction levels of high school students. faculty, and staff of Ateneo de Iloilo regarding modernized jeepneys, focusing on cleanliness, comfort, and safety. A quantitative approach was used, employing a bipolar Likert scale survey (1-6) and statistical tests (Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests) to analyze commuter perceptions. Results showed moderate satisfaction, with cleanliness receiving the highest score (3.70), comfort rated at 3.49, and safety the lowest at 3.28. While modernized jeepneys improved sanitation and seating, issues such as air freshness, peak-hour congestion, and standing stability persisted. A significant difference (p = 0.046) between safety and cleanliness highlights the need for enhanced security measures. The study concludes that while modernization has introduced improvements, further enhancements in safety, comfort, and sanitation are necessary. Findings provide insights for policymakers and transport operators to refine PUVMP implementation for a safer, more efficient commuting experience.
