520 _aThis study analyzed the severity of paper waste and the importance for it to be mitigated in the present time as it will be beneficial for the environment to grow into a better place for the people. This study is an Advocacy Lens Research which is a Mixed Research, the aim of this paper is to test the intervention, the Journal Maker Program, and to assess if it will truly help the Tabucan Elementary School in their paper waste problem and if the journal notebooks made are successfully efficient- which are both durable and sturdy enough to be used on daily academic activities by the students. The intervention started when the researchers collected plastic aggregates and used papers. Then it went through a procedure of turning them into brand new journals. The papers and the 3 types of covers (mixed, hard, wrapper plastic) created through the intervention were tested via the pebble durability testing. All of the results of the tests came out stating that the commercial journal papers and the journals made via the intervention are not on par with one another which means both samples are not comparable. The entire intervention procedure demonstrates that recycled journals are preferable due to their improved environmental impact and increased durability. Researchers conclude that using recycled journals is a more environmentally responsible option; by incorporating previously used materials, recycled journals help to reduce waste and preserve natural resources, which contribute to environmental sustainability.
