520 _aMultiple studies have revealed the reluctance to seek psychological assistance in the Philippines despite elevated levels of psychological distress. This is particularly relevant within academic institutions where the utilization of free counseling services remains low. Thus, it is imperative to formulate effective strategies to promote positive help -seeking attitudes and encourage healthy responses in lieu of negative coping habits. The Grade 7 and Grade 9 students of Ateneo de Iloilo - SMCS agreed to participate (n=131) and were surveyed using the modified Attitudes Toward Psychological Help-Seeking Scale (ATSPPH; Williams et al., 2001). Moreover, the effectiveness of the Project LIGTAS intervention was assessed using a Randomized Pretest-Posttest Design. The findings revealed that the Grade 7 and Grade 9 both had neutral psychological help-seeking attitudes (mean 34.771, sd=5.9298) before and after Project LIGTAS. Using Independent Samples t-test revealed a significant difference in the pretest results of the Grade 7 and 9 (p = 0.013); thus, rejecting the null hypothesis (0.013 < 0.05). Post Project LIGTAS, attitudes between the treatment and controlled group remained neutral with no significant difference (p = 0.959) which led the researchers to accept the null hypothesis (0.059 > 0.05). This suggests that the Project LIGTAS is ineffective in significantly improving psychological help-seeking attitudes. Thus, newer and long-term strategies should be implemented by future studies and programs.
