Publisher: [Iloilo City] : [Ateneo de Iloilo], c2024Description: 122 p.DDC classification: Ref 373.07 Ef365 2024 Summary: The study aims to determine the efficiency of the WithYouth Program in offering a new spiritual development avenue for victims of abuse and exploitation in DSWD Home for Girls through Ignatian Spirituality. The researchers prepared four (4) instruments to answer five (5) research questions: demographic survey to determine participants' perceptions on their living conditions before and after living in Home for Girls, two (2) scale questionnaires to assess the self-concept level and awareness on Ignatian Spirituality of the participants, and a structured interview to evaluate the significant difference in self-concept and awareness on Ignatian Spirituality before and after the intervention. The 3-week program consists of learning materials (modules and daily journals) and social interactions. A criterion was established to determine the 7 participants: (a) adolescent (12-18 years old), (b) victim of abuse and exploitation, and (c) resident of DSWD Home for Girls. This study is a quantitative research utilizing single-subject A-B design. SPSS is used as a statistical tool with descriptive statistics, Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and thematic analysis. The study's findings revealed a decent status of self-concept and low level of awareness. The participants have developed in their self-perception, living conditions, and religion. Implementing the WithYouth Program, there is no significant difference in the self-concept, and there is a significant difference in the level of awareness of participants before and after teaching Ignatian Spirituality. The researchers suggest the government and health sector further investigate the relevance of spiritual intervention programs in improving the living experience of victims of abuse and exploitation.
