Publisher: [Iloilo City] : [Ateneo de Iloilo], c2024Description: 231 p.DDC classification: Ref 373.07 P248 2024 Summary: There have been no major research studies conducted in Iloilo City on the lived experiences of the elderly in residential homes; thus, the study aims to identify this variable, specifically on the emotional and social experiences, and aims to assess whether the Puso't Ginhawa intervention program had a difference on these variables of the elderly residents at Asilo de Molo. Four viable elderly participants were chosen using purposive sampling based on demographic factors such as age, ability to answer, and duration of residency. The study was conducted over three weeks and used a phenomenological action research methodology. The first week, second week, and third week were used for the pre-intervention, the intervention period itself, and the post-intervention, respectively. This research then utilized pre-intervention and post-intervention, semi-structured and open-ended interviews as instruments to qualitatively answer the research questions of the study with the aim of gathering data on the emotional and social experiences that the elderly have undergone before and after the said program. The findings are presented with two main themes, Puso and Ginhawa, with each main theme subdivided into subthemes. The results showed that the Puso't Ginhawa intervention programs had a minor positive effect on the social experiences of elderly individuals, as evidenced by variations in the results of social isolation and interpersonal conflicts. The findings further indicate that the program had a positive temporary difference in the emotional experiences of the elderly residents in Asilo de Molo.Item type | Current location | Home library | Collection | Call number | Copy number | Status | Date due | Barcode | Item holds |
