Impact of hybrid-flexible (HyFlex) modality on students' learning experiences: an analysis through Ignatian pedagogical paradigm (IPP) / by Alessandra Mariel P. Naranjo, Mariella Alyssa S. Obligacion, Louise Marie R. Yap, & Bianca G. Chua.

Publisher: [Iloilo City] : [Ateneo de Iloilo], c2023Description: 85 p.DDC classification: Ref 373.07 Im71 2023 Summary: This research discusses the use of the Hybrid Flexible (HyFlex) learning modality as an alternative to traditional face-to-face learning. The study highlights the benefits and challenges of HyFlex, as well as its impact on the mental well-being of senior high school students. The study aims to address the lack of research on HyFlex and to improve future student experiences by considering their experiences, challenges, and needs in the development of this instructional mode. The study was carried out through one-on-one interviews with the chosen senior high school students from ADI-SMCS and was analyzed utilizing the thematic analysis method. The interview questions were constructed by the researchers, and the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (IPP) was used as a theoretical framework. The study found that while the HyFlex learning method was positively received, the results suggest that it was still not the optimal or preferred approach by the students. This was due to certain challenges that had an impact on their learning and mental wellbeing such as the educational barriers and frustrations they encountered. The researchers have recommended that the institution take into account the changes and revisions suggested by participants to further improve the HyFlex setup.
