Summary, etc. Chemical fertilizers have gained more attention and are getting more in demand because farmers are using them to get a better yield of crops. The Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA) recognizes the ongoing plight of local farmers relative to the hike in fertilizer prices. Furthermore, the use of chemical fertilizers degrades crop quality and harms the environment. To address the issue, the researchers thought of creating an alternative fertilizer that is affordable, organic, and present on farms through the process of vermicomposting. Generally, this study aimed to determine the effects of different substrate compositions on the NPK content of the vermicast of African Nightcrawlers (Eudrilus eugeniae). The study utilized 2 Treatments and 1 Control all done in three replications: Treatment A - 670 grams cow manure + 445 grams ANC, Treatment B - 670 grams kitchen waste + 445 grams ANC, and Control - 670 grams loam soil + 445 ANC. Results revealed that Treatment B got the highest mean in total N content (1.14%), total K content (0.62%) and lowest mean in pH level (5.64). On the other hand, Treatment A got the highest mean in total P content (0.28%). Independent Measures T-test showed the differences between the treatments and replicates as seen in their p-values. Therefore, vermicomposting can produce high-quality fertilizers than other commercial fertilizers in the market and kitchen waste can be utilized as a fertilizer. The researchers recommend the public to utilize vermicomposting and try other organic substrates in generating fertilizers to lessen the use of chemical fertilizers.
