The study explored the status of agro-processing in Tubungan as a way to create additional income to help the sellers as well as farmers based on their perceptions and experience. Due to the struggling recovery of the Philippine economy, the agricultural industry in Tubungan faces challenges such as low income, overworked agricultural workers, insufficient policies and programs to help the struggling sector, and lack of attention or assistance given by the Government. The research design utilized is the Phenomenological Study under the Qualitative Research Design with a total of 6 respondents, 3 experienced and 3 inexperienced with agro-processing, using the Purposive Sampling which is a type of Non-random Sampling method. The data collection was done through interviews wherein thematic coding or thematic analysis was done after conducting the interviews to analyze the data. The analysis showed that those who practice agro-processing have higher everage income than those who do not engage in such practices. Moreover, all the participants showed an interest in practicing agro-processing if funded and initiated by the government. The current status of the agro-processing in Tubungan showed that while the agro-processing industry in Tubungan is prevailing, their is still room for improvement especially through government initiatives, and further recognition of agro-processing through promotion and awareness. Therefore, it is suggested that a collective effort from both the local laborers and the government must be encouraged to further uplift and recognize the importance of sustainable livelihoods.
